He was among the first at the faculty to introduce modern educational technologies and multimedia tools, headed the Human Rights Laboratory, and initiated the opening of the Memorial Classroom dedicated to the Heroes of the Russo-Ukrainian War, as well as the master’s program «Digital Law»
Major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Chief of Staff of an artillery battalion. Since 2014 – volunteer of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade, participant in combat operations; later served at a territorial recruitment center. In 2024, resumed service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Serhii Vasylovych was consistent, systematic, and multifaceted in everything he did. Many people did not even know about the different aspects of his life beyond the university. He was a man of profound faith and deep convictions. He was someone who was eager to live and to know everything, yet at the same time did everything thoughtfully and thoroughly, which inspired enormous respect. There can only be good memories of Serhii, and we can truly say that this is a loss that cannot be replaced by anyone. He was a person with a strong inner core. Honor, dignity, and integrity were not empty words to him – they were the essence of his life, just as service to the state and service to the people were

I remember Serhii Vasylovych as an outstanding lecturer with exceptional analytical abilities, a teacher who knew how to present material in a fascinating way. I recall how, when introducing the course «Canon Law», he presented the subject so engagingly that many students enrolled, and in the following years the number of students kept growing. It is also important to mention the innovative teaching methods he used. Even when nobody else was using electronic gradebooks, Serhii Vasylovych already had them. All materials were presented to students in a highly engaging way, using digitalization tools and innovative approaches
He also contributed to supporting the establishment of the Bukovynian Diocese of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, engaged in volunteer work, and helped fellow servicemen as well as the families of fallen Defenders of Ukraine
